"There's nothing here to take for granted, with each breath that we take"

Today was just a rough day for me in general. I woke up in a crummy mood, just on edge all day, and some people have just really been pissing me off lately. I think I'm going to make this entry public because it doesn't really have too much personal stuff in it.

Anyway, one of the early people to shape my taste in music died today. While I didn't support a lot of his more recent lifestyle choices, there's no denying the greatness of his talent and musical genius. He was a spectacular artist and will never be forgotten. It really saddened, but humbled me today to hear about the death, and all the great things people had to say about him. But I really wonder why so many people didn't bother saying nicer things about him more often. Whenever I'd play Michael Jackson with a group of friends, the immediate response almost every time would be "EW WHY ARE YOU PLAYING MUSIC BY THAT FREAK" or something of similar nature. I really think things could have been so much different with him if more people could just show the kindness in their hearts, and really be supportive. I guess what I'm trying to say is I hate how our society works with everyone just trying to oust everyone else. I don't get why people can't be more compassionate towards others.
