"There's nothing here to take for granted, with each breath that we take"
"I'm not locked in here with you! You're locked in here with ME!"
The last two days have been good so far, I've enjoyed them quite a lot! I'm keeping up a good mood, so that's always a plus, but I'm pretty tired right now. I guess I'll start from the beginning since I have no idea how to start this thing. I've been trying to sleep more lately, and it's kind of working out well, although I still am staying up kind of late. Yesterday after class was over, I called up a few of my buddies Michael and Erik (Michael also brought along his friend Evan), and we decided we wanted to go to a different part of downtown called Atlantic Station to get some food, maybe check out a few stores and catch Watchmen. Erik and I were chilling out in my room for an hour or two before the other two were ready to go, so we played some Rock Band and talked about music and stuff, it was fun. Once Michael and Evan arrived, we decided to walk to Atlantic Station, and we somehow managed to take this super sketch route there, it was kind of creepy, but we eventually found the way we normally take, and got their safe.
Once we got there, we walked around a couple of minutes to see where we could eat, and decided to eat some Moe's, the first GOOD food I've had all week. It was nice, I've been craving some Mexican for a while, and I got my fix. It was nice talking at the restaurant, because both Michael and Erik are going to be my roommates next year (along with my current one Nathan), and we were talking about our plans for next year and what stuff was like back home (I'm the only one who is from Georgia in our room). Afterward, we went to the theater to see what time we could get tickets, and once we grabbed our tickets we had about an hour and a half to kill, so we walked to the Target that is really close by, and grabbed a few things. I decided to buy the Watchmen comic, just because I used to be obsessed with comic books, and I hear it's fantastically written.
When we got back to the theater, we had to wait in a line right outside of our designated theater, and there were some people handing out surveys for the movie from the producers of Watchmen. They told us to fill out what we could, and then fill out the rest after the movie was over. Once we were let in the theater, we got really good seats, and I really, really liked the movie! I never read the comic before, so I personally thought it was an awesome movie, but a lot of the comic book fans didn't like it as much. I guess I need to read the comic book to see it from their perspective. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but I guess I didn't have super high expectations and it lived up to my personal standards of a good movie. :P By the end, you could hear people quoting the movie like crazy, and it was the typical movie experience. Watchmen is the first movie I've seen a while that really, really earned it's R rating. it was pushing the boundaries, and graphic as hell, but I loved that part of it. It wasn't afraid to depict the comic well. The screenplay was also very well done for a three hour movie. It is hard to depict a huge graphic novel into a few hours, and I thought it was well put together (By one of my favorite voice actors of all time David Hayter! Metal Gear Solid owns! :D).
By the time we walked back, Nathan was back from visiting his girlfriend (It was almost 2 in the morning), and he was watching some old episodes of Lost from my massive DVD collection. We watched a few episodes and then went to bed around 3:30-4:00. I wanted to sleep in this morning, but I didn't really get the chance, my friends Jenni and Meghan kept calling me to go see Watchmen with them, and I finally cracked and got out of bed around 11:30-11:45. I ended up walking all the way across campus, only to learn we missed the shuttle out to Atlantic Station, and I had to lead the walk down there, again! I've walked 4 or 5 miles within the last day! Good for my health! We ate lunch down there, and I saw the movie again. It's a good movie, I just can't sit in the theater 6 hours within a 18 or so hour period. Afterward, we walked back to campus, I ate dinner with a bunch of friends, and I'm back in the room. I think I'm going to take it easy the rest of the night, try to get to bed a little early, although I had some coffee to keep me awake. I'm just glad I'm in a good mood, and I think it's going to hold for a while, I just gotta keep positive! :]
Hope I hear from more of you mindsayers soon!
