"There's nothing here to take for granted, with each breath that we take"

Hey everybody, I'm Alex Sohani, and I just signed up here after my friend Rory (makenzero) shot me a link to the whole blogging deal. I've been interested in getting into blogging for a while, since I just need somewhere to let my thoughts out through writing. I've never really been much of a person to use a diary/journal or anything, so I figure that blogging would work the best for this type of deal. I'm not much of a writer, so I guess most of what you'll see here on this blog is my thoughts for the day, what's been going on with me, and random other thoughts. I'm also really big on music, so you'll probably see me interpreting lyrics and putting up my thoughts on albums and artists.

Anyway, about me. I'm an 18 year old guy, who likes typical teenager things. I'm into sports, and gaming, and music, and hanging out with friends, whatever you want to talk about. I'm currently at Georgia Tech, and I'm having a pretty good time here, even with the ridiculously tough Calculus classes. I have an amazing girlfriend named Jordan, she's a sweet girl, and she basically knows how to make me feel better all the time (Even if she doesn't think so). I know how to play guitar, and drum, and I'm always making up beats and such, and I have a huge interest in drumlines. Along with being able to play a few instruments, I'm absolutely obsessed with rock music; you could probably call it my passion. I'm a big analyst, so I judge music based on lyrics, instrumentation, and how it's just tied together overall. I'm also into several other styles of music, so don't think I'm limited to just all things rock. Besides that, I'm a pretty boring individual, with no "special talents", living a very average life.

My day today was pretty much just a recuperation day. I planned on going to Calculus class this morning, but I slept through the alarm. I guess it's understandable with the sheer amount of stress I've had lately with all the assignments and tests around one given time period. I managed to study enough for Calculus to feel like I did well on my test yesterday, and today was the first day we had class after the test, so I'm assuming I didn't miss all that much. I woke up especially late for me, set up this page real quick, and went off to my chemistry class. Later tonight I have to meet up for a group project that's due next Tuesday, but that shouldn't be too bad considering it's about Georgia Tech athletics.

I'm feeling pretty anxious about school, finals are coming up, and I definitely need to be getting more sleep than I have been lately. I stay up too late, too often, and it's starting to affect my sleep schedule, and energy. At least I'm not doing bad in any given class, I have good grades all around besides Calculus, and even that grade isn't horrible. I really need another good weekend, and I can't wait to go back home again and see Jordan!

Of course, being me, I've been listening to music pretty much the entire time I've been awake, and today the two bands I've listened to the most are Muse and The Offspring. I don't have an exceptional love for either band, but I do enjoy their music very much. The Offspring's newest album is a big change from some of their old stuff, but it's a nice sound they have, and I just couldn't seem to get enough of the crazy bass licks in Hysteria by Muse. I'll probably end up listening to some more music tonight, but I'm feeling like I should listen to some more relaxing music.

Well, I guess that's all for now, I don't got much else to say, tonight should be a typical night, I'll get as much homework as I can done, and talk to Jordan for a good while, watch the new South Park, and hit the sack. Thanks again Rory for showing me Mindsay, and I hope you all have a good day.
